雖然產品設計、室內設計等等在台灣已經逐漸為人所認識，但平面設計這個角色，其實大部份的朋友們還是不太清楚的。其實平面設計的本質，不是在把刊物、廣告、包裝、logo變美，而是在於解決問題；其重點在於諮詢而不是設計。我們的角色，牽扯到行銷企劃，並以設計的角度，去提供企業更廣的選擇。但因為不了解，一般來說，客戶來找設計的時間點都太晚了，很多條件及時間被限制下，反而壓縮了創意可發揮的空間。

而設計，只是最後執行的手段而已，且或許設計也不會是唯一的解決之道，如果最後討論的結果需要攝影、插畫、動畫、室內等等規劃，我們都可以找最優秀、適當的人，一併為您整合規劃，這樣也能統一整體形象，不會各做各的。畢竟美不美是表面的呈現，但有沒有解決客戶的需求，才是專案成不成功的重點。

令我昨夜輾轉難眠、振奮的好消息是，我的偶像David Carson要在雜誌界復出江湖，出一本屬於他自己的雜誌C A R S O N！David Carson 是九〇年代設計界新潮流的代表人物，在此之前，他並不是設計出身，第一次和設計的接觸，是大學時代兩個禮拜的設計課程，隨後打開了他大師之路。在當時，他也是頂尖的衝浪高手，世界上數一數二，也造就了他後來打造次世代雜誌的事業。

而他變成設計界的焦點是在1992年的時候，Ray Gun雜誌邀請他擔任藝術總監。Ray Gun雜誌原本默默無名，在他手下(1992-1995)卻變成萬眾矚目的雜誌。經典的破碎影像搭配幾乎無法閱讀的雜誌，風格攪亂一池春水，引起設計界學院派的大震撼！他的格言「end of print」質疑了字體在數位時代的角色地位是否將有所轉變，也引起了新興設計界的追隨。之後的David Ca r  s  o    n大多待在教界，以及經營自己的公司，此次即將推出自己的雜誌，勢必再次引起大地震！
