Monocle’s one-off newspaper Monocle Mediterraneo is published last week. Although it’s a summer project, it seems that they have a big success and consider to have another issue during the winter. MagCulture.com has a in-depth interview with the founder Tyler Brulé.

英國著名的雜誌Monocle發行了一份新聞報紙Monocle Mediterraneo。雖然只是一次性的出刊，但顯然成效不錯，引起廣大的迴響。由英國知名設計師Jeremy Leslie成立的網站MagCulture.com，訪問了Monocle的創辦人Tyler Brulé，並對於這一份新興報紙做了深入的報導。

訪談中Tyler Brulé表示，趁著暑假空檔期間*，Monocle發行這份300×460 mm大小的報紙，為的是提供放暑假的人們更多元、更豐富的資訊參考。在他的觀察中，放假的人們，聚集在海邊、泳池邊，很少人是拿著筆記型電腦、iPad上網的，這也是他們不像去年一樣發行8段的網路Podcast，而推出實質印刷的報紙。

Jeremy Leslie也表示，用和Monocle一樣的編排方式、字型等等來作大版面的報紙，比起小版面的Monocle，來的生動、有趣、幽默多了。連Brulé自己都承認，做完此份報紙，再回去做九月號的雜誌，感覺難度增加了許多。但因為大受好評，他們已經開始著手準備冬季號Monocle Mediterraneo的出刊！更多Monocle未來的動向，請參考MagCulture的介紹。

During the 2010 world cup, a font that’s used on the Adidas jersey has caught my eyes. UNITY is designed by Adidas & Brazil designer Yomar Augusto for the use during the world cup 2010 in South Africa. The type is not so classic but definitely a fresh on the football jerseys. Designer Yomar Augusto has initially trained as a graphic designer, studied photography at the school of visual arts in NYC, and then completed a master in type design from the royal academy of art in the hague, the Netherlands before he started his own studio in Rio de Janeiro.

看足球也要看設計！巴西的設計師Yomar Augusto和Adidas為了2010世界盃足球賽設計了一套字型，專門用在Adidas的球衣上。包括法國、德國、希臘等等的球隊，只要是穿著Adidas的球衣，就可以看到這個…不是那麼經典，但是十分當代、新鮮的一套字型。足球運動一直在進化，或許連設計也要跟上時代！雖然網路上評價兩極，但這小小的變化，或許也能帶來一些新刺激！Yomar Augusto是個年輕的設計師，他不僅在巴西完成了平面設計的學位，在紐約SVA學攝影，更是遠赴荷蘭習得了字體設計的智識。目前回到巴西里約熱內盧開設自己的設計工作室。

‘Orion suitcase’ is an aluminum and natural cowhide luggage piece by Hermès design director, Gabriele Pezzini, for the french luxury brand.

The ergonomic travelling companion, has a brushed anodized aluminum shell, with an interior surface which has been reinforced with carbon and kevlar. These materials provide a strong resistance to wear and tear and frequent travel.

There are two natural cowhide handles, which are a reference to Hermès travel world. The orientation of the handles allow one to carry the suitcase either horizontally or vertically, while the multi-directional wheels make for easy use. / via designboom

Japanese lifestyle brand, D&Department, now has D&TV. Not only they promote their own product and restaurant, they also help local traditional shops to sell their goods. Great concept!
