During the 2010 world cup, a font that’s used on the Adidas jersey has caught my eyes. UNITY is designed by Adidas & Brazil designer Yomar Augusto for the use during the world cup 2010 in South Africa. The type is not so classic but definitely a fresh on the football jerseys. Designer Yomar Augusto has initially trained as a graphic designer, studied photography at the school of visual arts in NYC, and then completed a master in type design from the royal academy of art in the hague, the Netherlands before he started his own studio in Rio de Janeiro.

看足球也要看設計！巴西的設計師Yomar Augusto和Adidas為了2010世界盃足球賽設計了一套字型，專門用在Adidas的球衣上。包括法國、德國、希臘等等的球隊，只要是穿著Adidas的球衣，就可以看到這個…不是那麼經典，但是十分當代、新鮮的一套字型。足球運動一直在進化，或許連設計也要跟上時代！雖然網路上評價兩極，但這小小的變化，或許也能帶來一些新刺激！Yomar Augusto是個年輕的設計師，他不僅在巴西完成了平面設計的學位，在紐約SVA學攝影，更是遠赴荷蘭習得了字體設計的智識。目前回到巴西里約熱內盧開設自己的設計工作室。

Selections from Emigre magazine #1 – #69

This 512-page book, designed and edited by Emigre co-founder and designer Rudy VanderLans, is a selection of reprints that traces Emigre’sdevelopment from its early bitmap design days in the mid 1980s through to the experimental layouts that defined the so-called “Legibility Wars” of the late 1990s, to the critical design writing of the early 2000s. Featuring interviews with, among others, The Designers Republic, Allen Hori, Rick Valicenti, Vaughan Oliver, Mr. Keedy, Ed Fella, and essays by Lorraine Wild, Anne Burdick, Zuzana Licko, Kenneth FitzGerald, Andrew Blauvelt, Kalle Lasn, Rick Poynor and many more.

Emigre magazine is in the permanent design collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Design Museum in London, and the Denver Art Museum. Japanese designer Nosigner recently completed this signage campaign for a cram school run by Ikushinsha, a publisher of educational materials. I think it’s so clever how an ordinary ruler, when adapted as a motif, can look so visually stunning. It is also the one iconic symbol of learning and growth – an object that all students use at some point in their studies regardless of the discipline. / via Spoon & Tamago

設計公司Nosigner最近幫日本的一間由Ikushinsha經營的補習班設計了一套指標系統（Signage System）。整體的設計是從「尺」的概念下去發展，完美的連接、串連了整個空間。「尺」是一個學習過程必會使用的一個工具，用這個當設計的concept，再完美不過了。

Design giant Neville Brody has designed a new font exclusively for Wallpaper magazine. It’s called “Peace 2,” which is based on the stencil font “Peace” he made before based on the classic Tate + Lyle logo.
